This is where I live-broadcast my guild’s raids. I chose livestream because, unlike UStream, which I tried first, Livestream has a downloadable client called Procaster. For Video, Procaster will let you broadcast a webcam OR your Desktop OR an application. For Audio, you can tie it into a mic or, as I find more useful, into your desktop audio.

I use Desktop, because you can zoom in and only show part of your application … so I only broadcast part of my WoW client, all of my UI elements are pushed off to the sides or bottom, so in my newer videos you won’t see my UI.

Now, that’s just the live broadcasting. I also make extensive use of LiveStream’s “Studio”, where I can record anything I’m streaming for future broadcasts. Forget that old silly screenshot of your guild standing over Yogg’s dumb dead head, you can embed a video of your Yogg kill on your homepage.

Now, mind you, the recording can be a bit … flaky. I tend to restart procaster any time I want to start recording (it will start recording automatically upon a broadcast start).

I’m happy to take questions, but that’s my general thoughts on why I chose Livestream and how I use it.

With 3.2 I’ve been trying to figure out how I want to rank my gear. I’ve been using a modified version of BobTurkey’s scale. Post on that to follow, with links to Bob’s original work.

I’ve also been working on my ShadowPriest DPS spec. My guild has another Disc priest now who’s VERY good, and I’m finding it very easy to raid with two disc priests in 25 man (hint: we split up the groups for who shields what). We’re even doing 5mans together a lot, though I go shadow for that (I”m shadow/disc and he’s holy/disc). Post on THAT to follow. Gear wise i’m using formulas from shadowpriest.com, links and post to follow.

In non-priestly news I’ve also been doing some work with my Resto/Balance dual specced Druid. Maybe posts on that later. Not sure.

I’ve got 2 on-demand shows, some 5 mans I did today.  Sound was messed up, I set it to Mic instead of desktop sound.

Otherwise, I’m preferring this vastly to UStream.

Made some adjustments to my UI.

Note to self:

1. When evaluating numbers from 6/09/09, manually add in Renewed Hope.
2. Sigh, lamenting that it’s not done for me.
3. Feel ego boost after looking at new numbers.
4. Sprain arm when patting self on back.

I’m going to hold off on doing analysis on the data until tomorrow on one of my breaks or maybe lunch.

For now, I will simply bask in, what looks to me, like I was actually #1 on VoA.

Sure, people probably weren’t taking it seriously, it IS VoA … but I maintain a sense of pride, deserved or not.
